A 43-year old teacher was brought to Madonna and Child hospital sustaining 3 fatal stabbed wounds and then later died. According to the witnesses of the incident, the suspect is a 15-year old boy, a Grade 9 student in Pedro “Oloy” N. Roa High School in Cagayan de Oro City.

Vilma Cabactulan, the victim, is an adviser of Grade 9 Section Mendeleev. The incident happened in the morning of September 13, 2016.
It was said by Senior Police Officer 4 Dominador Datahan that the student quickly and silently approach the teacher behind it’s back while conducting her class. As the teacher faces the blackboard, the student went smoothly in front and stabbed his teacher 3 times in the back.
The young boy immediately left the incident leaving the teacher fighting for her life. Police officers who went on and responded to the scene recovered the weapon, a 7-inch knife used to stab the victim.
A Case of Hatred
Parents and relatives of the suspect persuaded the young student to surrender to authorities and was brought to DSWD. He was then turned over to Women and Children Protection Desk in Bulua Police Station where he went medical and psychological test.
According to PO1 Marian Mae Tolentino, investigators said that there are actually 3 of them who was initially plotting the crime. His 2 other classmates draw lots as to who will do the stabbing and unfortunately, the young suspect had to do it.
The 15-year old boy was said to be always reprimanded and humiliated by the teacher due to his absences and frequent use of cell phone during classes. Tolentino added that the boy told investigators it was not only him who hold grudges to the teacher but many of them. He pointed out 2 other classmates whom he had connivance with and Tolentino said that investigators have yet to talk to the other students he mentioned.
The young boy is described by his friends to be silent type. He’s constantly being reprimanded by his adviser due to his behavior on using mobile phone during classes and may have been having hatred to the teacher long enough for him to do such heinous act.
