During a conversation with the Washington Post on June 11, Apple CEO Tim Cook was questioned about his confidence in Apple Intelligence avoiding AI hallucinations. Cook responded that his confidence is “not 100%,” emphasizing that although significant efforts have been made to ensure the technology’s readiness and high quality, he cannot guarantee complete accuracy.Cook stated, “It’s not 100%. But I think we have done everything that we know to do, including thinking very deeply about the readiness of the technology in the areas that we’re using it in. So I am confident it will be very high quality. But I’d say in all honesty that’s short of 100%. I would never claim that it’s 100%.”
This discussion occurred on the same day Apple hosted its 2024 Worldwide Developers Conference, where they unveiled their AI model, Apple Intelligence.
